Ancient Norway is reknowned for the Norse vikings which began their navigation & escapades in 793. By the 10th century Norse Vikings had travelled through much of Western Europe and were beginning long open-ocean voyages. As a result Greenland was colonized by the Norse in the 10th century. At the beginning of the 11th century Christianity was introduced in Norway through their leader Olaf II. [BM] {UA}
