Medieval Luxembourg

Luxembourg was once part of the Holy Roman Empire. When this Empire disintegrated in 1806 Luxembourg became a member of the German league & shared a monarchy with the Netherlands. In 1867 the Treaty of London granted sovereignty to Luxembourg. Monarchy was shared between these two soverign states until 1890. In 1890 Queen Wilhelmina ruled the Netherlands & Adolf of Nassau became the grand duke of Luxembourg. This is St. John's Church in Gruno, Luxembourg. [BM] {UA}
