Medieval Liberia

As early as the 12th century Liberia has been populated by migrants from the north & east. These migrants came to a region that was unpopulated & largely unknown. Liberia was reached by Portuguese explorers in 1461. These Portuguese explorers were followed by other European explorers. Liberia was used by these explorers for the aquisition of forest products & slaves. [BM] {UA}
