During the 2nd and
1st centuries BC, Greece was absorbed by the Roman Empire.
The Roman Empire became part of
the Byzantine Empire.
In 1453 the Ottoman empire won control of Greece from the Byzantine
Empire.
The Ottoman Empire dominated for the next 350 years.
