Temples
(320-467)
Sculpture reached its peak during the Gupta dynasty.
Sculptors working in stone and bronze
reproduced many aspects of their world although the
focus was primarily religious.
Architecture advanced rapidly in its design and execution.
The most innovative developments
came about in temples. The traditional temples that were
cut into rock gave way during this
period to free standing structures.
