About ten thousand years ago, with the decline of the ice age, the tribes of the middle east were introduced to a climate that was warmer & less harsh. With this improved climate came a greater variety of plants & a new abundance of animals, especially sheep goats & gazelles. Some of these animals became domesticated allowing for the first time an assured source of food. [RB] {GC}
