Great Wall of China The Huns were a nomadic peoples that originally lived their lives on the steppes of the far east as farmers. When these tribes combined the resulting army was a destructive force that could easily attack and if necessary retreat anywhere. In 316AD, the Huns invaded Northern China. These raids eventually led to the construction of the Great Wall of China. This large Nomadic force made its way west invading India and Persia in the year 350AD. In 370AD the Huns appeared in Europe for the first time. They came upon the Goths who were attacked and defeated. The Ostrogoths became part of the Hun army and the Visigoths were driven into Roman territory starting the first Barbarian invasions. [RB] {NR}
