The Danes (845-866AD)

The Danes waged war and settled in what is now France and Germany. They played a major role in the collapse of the Frankish empire. The Danish King Rollo was even granted land in France where he founded the city of Normandy. In 845AD, the Vikings sacked the city of Paris. Later in 866AD they sacked the city of York. [RB] {NR}
