King Arthur
The Britons put
up a stubborn fight for more than a century and made a valiant last
stand in Southwest
England led by their tough war leader, Arthur. Arthur's fame was later
chronicled six
centuries later in "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table". The
Britons were pushed
back and the Anglo-Saxons imposed upon the realm their own laws,
language and farming
techniques. Nowhere else in the world were Barbarians more
influential in shaping a society.
