Neptune

Neptune is about 30 A.U. (1 Astronomical Unit=distance from Sun to Earth) from the Sun. It four times the size Earth and 15 times the mass. Neptune is the eighth planet but is currently the farthest from the Sun. The blue colour of Neptune is attributed to the vast amounts of methane on the surface. Three noteable features of Neptune are it's rings (not always visible), it's Great Dark Spot (a storm similar to Jupiter's Great Red Spot) and it's two moons (Triton and Nereid) orbiting. [JP] {SP}
