Forecasting
Forecasting is the practice of analyzing atmospheric patterns
for the purpose of predicting
the weather.
There are a lot of myths, folklore, and rules of thumb associated with forecasting.

Forecasters study all information they receive and look closely for things such
as fronts, highs and lows, which bring a change to weather patterns.
Weather forecasters try to be as accurate as possible, but their predictions are not
always correct.
Weather forecasts are used by many specialized services, as well as for the public. Bad
weather such as storms or poor visibility must be reported so aircraft, airports, shipping
and fishing boats can change their destination. Also, farmers must know when there is likely
to be a frost or severe snow storm so that they can harvest or spray their crops.
