Atmosphere

Atmosphere is the various layers of gases that surround the Earth.
The atmosphere protects the Earth from solar winds and radiation, holds in heat and moisture, and provides the medium through which most weather travels. [AM] {GC} {WW}
These layers are the magnetosphere, exosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere and the troposphere (in order from the outermost layer to the innermost layer).
The Earth is the only planet in the Solar System which has large amounts of water, both in its atmosphere, and on or below its surface. [VH] {WC}
