The Clan

Historically each Clan had four tartans:
1. The Chief's Tartan was worn by the Clan Chief and his immediate family.
2. The Clan Tartan was worn by all members of the clan.
3. The Dress Tartan was woven with lighter colours for formal wear.
4. The Hunting Tartan was worn by men of the Clan for hunting animals. This tartan was woven with subdued colours that would blend into the natural vegetation. [SB] {KW}
