Shaker Twisted Weft Carpets
The twisted weft rag carpet is a unique Shaker textile.
Strips of cut rags or heavy wool, in different colours, were twisted together and woven into the carpet cloth.
The twisted weft rag produces a visually dramatic cloth that is technically very simple.
