Shaker Textile - Linen Diaper
The Shakers cultivated and processed their own linen yarns from the flax
plant. An all-linen fabric decorated with small, overall patterns, known
as diaper, was woven by the Shakers. This cloth was used to make towels
for their own use and to sell at market.
