Surfaces have texture such as wool, silk, rock, sandpaper. Paintings generally create simulated textures by using colour and value to make the surface look like it is textured. Many paintings are themselves textured through the application of paint. Texture can be experienced in many art forms including sculpture, drawing and craft. [MH] {NR}
