Style in sculpture refers to distinctive characteristics of technique, subject and type of artwork. Relief sculpture is created on the face of the medium chosen by the sculptor. The subtractive method by removing unwanted pieces of wood and stone with, say, a chisel. The additive method involves adding layers of clay or wax or tile as in mosaic.
