Greek Influence

Usually when a country is conquered they must adapt the culture of the conquering country. But when the Roman's conquered the Greeks they where so taken by the Greek culture that actual works of art were removed by the Roman's from Greek towns. Most of the art came into Roman hands as booty from military campaigns, but some was4 purchased or commissioned. Although the Roman's took Greek art altered it and added to it, they had very different intentions then the Greeks. [MH] {NR}
