Jewellery
Jewellery can be made of any material that enhances personal appearance such as string,
seeds, metals or gems.
It satisfied the need for personal adornment in early primitive societies.
In addition to its decorative function jewellery is also worn as a sign of social rank.

At one point jewellery was forbidden to everyone but the ruling family.
Common materials considered rare and beautiful throughout time have
ranged from shells, bones, tusks, wood, pearls, corals, ceramics, and many others.
Some people consider jewellery to be a lucky charm and certain objects, a ring for
example, supposedly bring them luck.
