Fresco

Fresco is one of the oldest and most difficult painting media. The surface area is covered with a coat of rough plaster. After it dries smooth plaster is applied and while it is still wet colours are mixed with thinned plaster and painted on. Only small sections can be painted each day because the plaster can only be painted while wet and no corrections can be made by going over an area. [MH] {NR}
