BELSHAZZAR'S FEAST BY REMBRANDT VAN RIJN

Dramatic figures were painted with arms and legs shown in full movement grabbing, clutching in every direction. In Rembrandt's "Belshazzar's Feast" action is clearly shown in the surprise of the figures. Diagonal movement and the clustered grouping of figures also add to the sense of activity and motion in Baroque paintings. [MH] {NR}
