Popular culture, by definition, is instant and of it's time. No more so than with rock and roll music. This genre is locked in it's particular history-everyone remembers those certain records that when first heard made our spines shiver, and we never forgot the music. From the fabulous days of the 50's, when jukeboxes rocked to the new teenage anthems, rock'n'roll has been the medium of social change. That was when fuddy-duddy moms and dads thought Elvis's pelvis posed a threat to civilisation - at least to their daughter's mental health. [AW] {BM}
