This idiom of music has been the subject of much persecution under the title of censorship, which artists themselves call discrimination. In recent rap bands like Kool Moe Dee and NWA's Luthor have used much swearing, and perversion in their lyrics. As well the subject of women in rap music has taken a very male chauvinistic trend, calling women all kinds of evil names, and stereotyping them as "useless prostitutes". While there is good rap which is enjoyed by many people of different tastes, much of this style has fallen on hard ears, and many artists have been charged. [AW] {BM}
