Throbbing Gristle

Genesis started a band called Throbbing Gristle, which released the first alternative album in 1978. The other band which started Industrial shortly after this was called Cabaret Voltaire. Genesis said this about his style: 'I'd usually play (the Bass) with a leather glove because I liked the sound it produced. But if I was excited I'd take it off, cause I liked to see the blood shoot everywhere when I got carried away.' Throbbing Gristle were greatly influenced by the theories of William S. Burroughs.
