Strings
Except the harp, guitar, and steel guitar, members of the string family resemble each other in general shape,
but differ in size.
A violin is approximately 23" long, a viola is 26", a cello 49, and a stringed bass is 72.
Each has 4 strings fastened at one end and attached to pegs which turn at the other.
These pegs are used to increase or decrease tension on the strings, increasing or lowering the pitch.
