Electricity is used in 2 main ways in connection with keyed instruments. One way is merely as a means of an operating mechanism; some organs have an electric connection between the keys and the working parts of the Organ, so that when you put a key down it opens the corresponding pipe and allows the air to pass in, or when you touch a button or a "stop key" it brings a stop into operation.
