Romantic

A romance is a story which arouses one's imagination and emotions, and Romantic art is the kind which has that effect. This romanitic painting by Jean Marc Nattier is entitled "Portrait of Mary Adelaide". Nearly all music is more or less romantic, but some more than others. In much of the music by Haydn for instance, we appreciate the beauty of the music more than the romance, but with Schumann it is the romance we feel more than the beauty. [AW] {NR}
