The 1990's
BRITISH RED CROSS WORKER IN AFRICA The 80's were such a difficult time for certain people, because we felt things were getting worse. It seemed there was more poverty, more abuse in people's lives, the ecosystem was damaged as we learned about the ozone problem. Bands were making records to help children in Africa, and singers were writing about poverty. Two British acts were prevalent here. Phil Collins from the group Genesis had a song about poor people, and Live Aid a group of artists from England, released the Band-Aid project. This was the start of the 90's. [AW] {NR}
