In the social and cultural life of Western Europe, soloists and choirs became actively engaged in performing Liturgical (or church) music in cathedrals and monasteries.
Ordinarily this was choral art, supported by strings and keyboards, sometimes organs, but the latter would peak in it's
popularity in the Baroque era 1600-1750. This German choir, the Thomas Boys' Choir, has been a Leipzig tradition since
