Medieval Music
At the same time as the beginnings of Christianity, different kinds of folk songs were being written.
Ballads were slow poems set to a tune, troubadours wondered minstreling, latter group labourers would sing work songs or Chanteys.
Hymns came after and authorship began to be acknowledged.
This created the employment of Musicians, and they were recognisable by their work.
This American painting, "Music and Literature", was created by William Michael Harnett. MORE!
