New Directions

Soon, much of the industry was over-run with greed, competition, and a lack of respect for most things. Grunge, alternative, thrash, these styles are not happy-pop-rock, they are dark, depressive at times, and they make a statement about the state of the world such as it is; send more Peter Gabriel, or Beatles, or something procreative. True, bands like Live, Hootie and the Blowfish, and the Cranberries are struggling to shape the industry to the way they'd like it, but the battle increases as this decade draws nearer to the end.
