Yet the Ed Sullivan show brought these 4 "mop-tops" from England called the Beatles to perform. This opened the door to countless bands like Gerry andthe Pacemakers, the Searchers, The Zombies, Cream, and of course a little later the Rolling Stones, bands who wanted to fill the musical gap that was occurring in the States. America would recover with the birth of Soul, RandB and Psychedelia, but not until the British Invasion had successfully run its course.
