Playing in clubs like the Cavern Club and later in the areas around Germany and western Europe, they wrote songs, and gained the much needed experience to break into the American market in 1962 with the single "Love Me Do". With the help of manager Brian Epstein the group sky-rocketed to the top of the charts in a blink. With a record contract and live shows on a planned tour, in 1964, Beatlemania hit hard in the United States. [AW] {NR}
