Romance
Romance is derived from Old French romanz it can mean either a medieval narrative
composition or a love affair, generally one of a rather idyllic or idealized type, sometimes
marked by strange or unexpected incidents and developments; and to "romance" has come to
mean, to "make up a story that has no connection with reality".
Romance is defined as a long fictitious tale of heroes and extraordinary or mysterious
events, usually set in a distant time or place.

Alternatively, Romance may be defined any creative style of literature having to
do with love, or heroes - especially falling in love. For example, Edmond Rostand's
Cyrano de Bergerac or any Harlequin Romance.
