Non-fiction is writing that is based on actual people and actual events.
Non-fiction authors attempt not to include their own thoughts, comments, or distort
the facts. Non-fiction writings usually involve plenty of research using primary and
secondary sources, as well as eyewitness accounts.
Norman Mailer's The Executioner's Song, Truman Capoets ’In Cold Blood and
John Hersey's Hiroshima are all notable examples of this genre.
