Essay
An essay is a literary composition of moderate length, dealing in an easy, cursory way with
a single subject, usually representing the writer’s personal experience and outlook. All
essays have a central dominant impression, which is the point the author it trying to prove.
There are two different classes of essays; they can either be formal or informal. Formal
essays are usually in the third person and discuss a serious matter. Informal essays are
generally the author’s opinion. The tones of formal and informal vary as well. Formal essays
have a grave tone whereas informal essays are more humorous.
