Greek Tragedy
The Greek Tragedy emerged earlier than the Greek Comedy; around the middle of the 6th Century BC.
Each tragic author who competed in the Dionysian festivals had to enter a tetralogy: 3 short tragic plays and 1 satyr (satire).
The three great tragedians of Ancient Greece were Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides.
