Roman Theatre
The first plays performed in Rome were loose copies of Greek plays.
It was not until 240BC that playwrights even adapted the Greek plays to better suit Roman audiences.
They were most interested in vulgarity, violence and physical comedy.
But the Romans were more interested in sports than theatre, and soon the standard of theatre was so low that it died out
altogether. This Roman Amphitheatre is found in Croatia. MORE!
