In 1525, after several other positions, Ludovico finally had enough money to move back to his hometown of Ferrara. He lived the rest of his life fulfilling his dream of writing and living peacefully. He died quietly on July 6, 1533 at the age of 59. Some of his plays include: Cassaria (1508); I suppositi (1509); Il negromante (1520) and La lena (1529).
