The Roman Forum

Roman towns and cities had a large open space called the Forum usually in the middle of the town site. Surrounding the Forum would be a Theater for cultural activities such as plays, dancing acrobatics and sports such as the Colosseum. Also found around the Forum would be the Basilica - buildings used for court and government activities. The Romans also built grand Temples to honor their Gods and Goddesses. [SB] {HO}
