The Theatre at Epidauros
An outdoor amphitheatre, typical of those used in Ancient Greece, is still found today in
Epidaurus. Boasting excellent acoustics and seating with aisles, the theatre was built
around 350BC.

The open-air theatre achieved a regular, defined shape. The hillside was
provided with concentric (circular) rows of seats and with staircase-aisles at regular
intervals. In the centre was the orchestra, where most of the action took place.
