The Temple of Athena
The Temple of Athena Nike, Athens, Greece, 427-424 B.C is elegant more graceful and lighter in
appearance then the other architecture.
It is made up of slim proportions like a young woman.
The
pillars are Ionic with extended scrolled capitals.
The shape of the pillars are more slender and
have less tapering and stand on ornately profiled bases.
There is a delicacy present in this
building.
Line seems to play a large part in each of these buildings, the slightest curve or
extension can change the whole feel.
