Early Dwellings
Neolithic man (20000BC-5000BC) emerged from their cave dwellings to erect buildings and settlements near rivers.
Simple structures of grass, bud-bricks, and even stone provided protection.
Walls around the settlement kept enemies at a distance.
The building of settlements freed time for more artistic endeavours, such as the creation of
pottery and basket weaving.
